hums softly as she slips into the long house. stepping to the side from the heavy doors, she lets her steely gray eyes to adjust to the dimness after being outside within the bright sunlight. gently she slips her finger through the long auburn tressels of her hair, brushing the loose strands back away from her face before running them down to the laces of her kirtle. sighing lightly as she strips away the woolen fabric from her lightly tanned flesh. hanging the kirtle upon a peg by the door she steps lightly to the back of the long house.
passing by the left over roast bosk from earlier, she smiles to herself as she thought of a stew that she could prepare for teh clan. moving to the back by the hearth she pulls out the large cast iron cooking kettle from the side of the hearth. placing it on the swinging hook just over the fire she turns towards the water pump, taking a clean bowl she fills it full with the fresh water to pour into the kettle.
humming as she works, she steps back over to the roast bosk, tearing a few peices from it she takes it to the counter and starts preparing it. seasoning it with the salts then tosses it into kettle. walking with care she looks into the vegetable basket and pulls out a few carrots, cabbages, turnips and onions. placing them on the counter she cleans them scrubbing each piece. wiping down the counter she then sets to chopping the vegetables and tossing them into the cooking kettle to start simmering with the bosk meat.
moving to the sacks against the wall, she fetch some Sa-Tarna grain and takes it to the fresh clean counter. humming she smiles as she sets to make fresh Sa-Tarna Bread, kneading the dough. making a couple of balls she sets them upon a pan and place close to the hearth to help them to rise before kneading them again and places them closer to the cooking coals to bake.
smiling seeing all she has done as she takes a clean rep cloth, damping it, she starts to clean the counters and the few dishes she had used. standing on her toes she reaches up for a couple of bowls and spoons, setting them on the counter she checks the stew and the bread. pulling the fresh baked bread away from the coals, placing them upon the counter for the clan to tear into when they wish for some stew as it finishes.
